Absorb Elements

As an Adaptarian you have the ability to absorb elemental magic from magical shrines, use these different elemental abilities to manipulate the world in different ways. The strong Stone element can push, pull, punch and break heavy boulders and walls. The sticky Slime element to get climb to higher places, slip through grates or leave behind globs of slime to hold down buttons. Use the slippery Ice element to freeze and melt water sources and waterfalls. Use the tricky Air element to become light as a feather and use its special dash to get to previously unreachable places.

Restore the world

Corrupted roots have settled into the world due to a lack of guidance. As you progress through and complete puzzles the roots will start retreating where they came from and leave the plants and creatures alone. Interact with the world to return life to the area. watch how grass and flowers grow back, frogs settle in the area and color returns to dying plants.

Sit down for a rest

Take a well deserved rest on some benches and chairs scattered through the world. 

This was our submission to the 2025 GMTK Game Jam. The theme for this jam was ‘Loop’, naturally thinking of orbits and the best spacegirl ever: Laika.

Play as Laika to protect the Earth from extraterrestrial threats by shooting them down. Collect upgrades as the waves continue, ranging from damage increases to faster fire rates and even different weapon types!

Due to positive reception and our personal enjoyment in making the game, we’ve decided to continue development on Laika’s Space Defence.
